Context and Discovery
The fragment was found in storage of Gotlands Museum without bearing an inventory number or any further information.

Measurements, Material and Condition
Irregularly shaped fragment of a picture stone, measuring about 24 x 22 cm and 8 cm thick. All sides of the piece are broken edges, neither the original narrow sides nor is any indication of the contour shape of the monument preserved. The fact that it represents a piece of a picture stone can be recognised only from the preserved modest remains of the border decoration (see VI). The fragment is made of limestone and has a relatively rough and uneven surface.

Description of Ornament and Images
The small remains of two carved parallel lines can be seen, which are a rim decoration typical of early picture stones.

Interpretation of the Imagery
No interpretation

Type and Dating
Fragment of an early-type picture stone, “Abschnitt” A according to Lindqvist’s typology, dating to the period between about AD 400 and 600.
